The Cloud

With the buzz that has been created over the last year you may well feel you need Cloud hosting but may not be entirely sure why that is. If you have this problem you are not alone, in fact you the majority rather than the minority and the reason for this is you’ll hear many products described as “The Cloud”, but what really is the cloud? The real answer is that there is no one answer. “The Cloud” should be seen as an ethos rather than a technology in itself and our ethos will be different from the next and each will have its own merits.
What is our Cloud ethos?
Our Cloud platform is designed so that we have completely redundant hardware and the way we do this is by using 3tera’s AppLogic platform. This software sits on top of all of our physical servers and ensures that any hardware problems that do develop will not affect your website or related services. We can also upgrade our servers “on the fly” which allows us to increase or decrease our resources depending on the demand at any one period of time.
3Tera AppLogic is a very large and complicated product, if you would like more information on the product itself please visit: http://www.3tera.com/AppLogic/
In addition to providing complete hardware redundancy we have also developed a Load Balanced, Failover and clustered Cpanel solution. In order to do this we employ 2 redundant load balancers that serve a cluster of Cpanel servers, and an external cluster of MySQL servers.
Your current hosting is more than likely hosted on a single server and if a problem develops your website will not longer be online, our solution ensures the uninterrupted serving of your web pages, if a problem happens our load balancers will exclude the problem unit from being used and direct traffic onto the healthy units.

Why doesn’t every host do this?
Currently there is a handful of providers that can offer this service while using the Cpanel control panel, unfortunately providing this platform comes with a heavy price tag due to the hardware and infrastructure required. Our system has been developed specifically to enable us to provide enterprise level redundancy with prices that are still affordable by the vast majority.
Who Needs Cloud Technology?
We believe that anyone, from large business to a personal blog site, can benefit from our Cloud ethos and to ensure this our products are designed in a way you can easily understand. Each of our packages comes with a set amount of web space, bandwidth and websites which you can use in whichever way you like.
You can be safe in the knowledge that our server hardware will not fail, we have a redundant software setup and that your website will be online.
